According to the rising nickel price, the nickel price on London Metal Exchange (LME) was stayed on around US$16,000/ton, based on that, the stainless steel price expected to be increased in the second half of this year.

Including Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco) and Tang Eng Iron Works Co., Ltd., two of the leading Taiwanese stainless steelmakers, might expect to increase their stainless steel product price for September, by the increasing producing cost.

The main reason for the high nickel price was mainly because of the export ban policy from the Indonesian government and expected to push the global stainless steel price much higher in the next few months.

Since this January, the nickel price had already increased more than 50%, and the high nickel price was expected to bring more profit to stainless steel mills.
