SSA2738 is pre-hardened grade specially designed for plastic mould industry. Chromium, Molybdenum, Manganese with addition of Nickel to enhance hardenability. The cleanliness of the steel makes the steel particularly well adapted for polishing or chemical etching.

Applications:
Mould, mould insert with no heat treatment required, good polishability, good machinability, good photoetching properties, high strength and high toughness. Guide ring, mounting plate, ejector plate, ejector pin and retainer plate. Gas and bath nitriding as well as case hardening are possible
